Is Radevic Estate Open in Winter? What to Know Before You Book
Short answer: yes, through November and December, closed in January. Here's what that actually means for planning a visit outside the peak season.
November: Rain, But Still Fully Open
November is Podgorica's rainiest month by a wide margin, averaging around 270 to 290mm of rainfall across 14 or more rainy days, with daytime temperatures typically in the mid-teens Celsius (around 55 to 59°F) and nights closer to 8°C (46°F). If you're picturing sunny vineyard photos, this isn't that month. What you will see is the vineyard just past harvest, vines settling into dormancy, a quieter and more subdued version of the property than the lush green photos most visitors expect.
Tastings and tours proceed as normal regardless of weather, since the core of the visit, the tasting room and cellar, is indoors. Pack for rain if you're visiting in November, and expect the estate visit itself to be unaffected even if the weather outside isn't cooperating.
December: Cooler, Drier, and Genuinely Pleasant

December is a noticeable improvement over November on the weather front. Rainfall drops to around 130mm over 12 to 13 days, meaningfully less than November, and while daytime highs cool further to around 7 to 8°C (46°F) with nights dropping to near freezing, the days themselves tend to be crisper and clearer rather than persistently wet. Light snow is possible but not typical this early in winter; it's more common by January and February.
This is genuinely a nice window to visit if you're already in Montenegro for the holidays or combining a trip with the Christmas markets and festive programming along the coast. The estate is quieter than at any point during the summer or harvest season, which some visitors prefer for a more relaxed, unhurried tasting experience.
January: Closed
We close for the month of January entirely. This isn't a weather-driven decision as much as a seasonal one, January is Podgorica's coldest month, tourist demand drops accordingly, and it's the natural point in the annual cycle for the estate to take its own break before reopening in February. If your trip falls in January, plan around it rather than assuming you can book around the closure, since there's no exception window during the month.
What a Winter Visit Actually Looks Like
Don't expect the same visit you'd get in July. The vines are bare, the outdoor walking portion of the tour is shorter and less scenic, and you won't see the property at its most photogenic. What you get instead is a quieter, more personal tasting experience with fewer other visitors around, and the tasting itself, the wine, the schnapps, and for the full tour, our estate cognac, is unaffected by the season. If the vineyard's appearance matters to your trip, this isn't the season for it. If the tasting itself is the priority and you'd rather avoid summer heat and crowds, winter, particularly December, is a legitimate and often overlooked option.
Planning Around the Season
Book through our Visit Us page as you would any time of year; the appointment-only structure doesn't change by season.
